This unique opportunity is perfect for nurses who enjoy versatility, are willing to explore new areas of specialty and can integrate well into various environments. The Resource Nurse will be utilized for episodic replacement focused in the Emergency Department and ICU, and will also be deployed to PACU and other areas where there is increased need due to patient safety and workload pressure.
Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
C.P.R. and I.V. Certification
Successful completion of Coronary Care 1 Course
Recognized nursing certifications and credentials in Emergency Nursing or Critical Care Nursing
Recognized nursing certifications and credentials in Obstetrical Nursing and PACU an asset.
Minimum of 2-3 years of current experience as a Nurse in an acute care setting.
A nurse who has varied clinical experience and enjoys a variety of patient care areas is suited to this role.
Critical Care or ER experience required.
Comfortable with a team assignment and be willing to work and gain experience and training on all other nursing units (ER, ICU, PACU, etc.)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to function as a team member in a variety of settings are essential.
Experience in Obstetrical Nursing an asset.

Effective communication skills with staff and physicians.
Ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues and management.
Be flexible and accepting of varied assignments.
Consult with the Clinical Leader for daily shift assignments.
Occasional ambulance transfer escort .
Regular and punctual attendance is a requirement of this position.
As a condition of employment, external hires are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.
